It's so important for us to leave space for the Universe to answer us. Often we put our questions, thoughts and prayers out into the Universe asking, "What is my true purpose?", or "How can I be more satisfied with my work?", or even asking, "Am I in the right relationship?" Entering the stillness of meditation and having a daily meditation practice is a fundamental piece of this equation, when we allow the time in stillness and silence to give us an opportunity to connect with something bigger than ourselves and release our heartfelt intentions. Whether we meditate with our breath or a mantra, this time and practice is the core of creating a greater flowing connection to Universal knowing.

A meditation practice, like anything else is built up slowly, as we develop the flexibility in our minds to let go and let our busy thoughts pass. Training our minds and bodies to be open and comfortable with stillness and silence is like any other kind of training. It can be built from just 2 minutes a day.

But in order to receive clarity and answers on our prayers and questions to the Universe, I believe that it is important to take 'time outs' at other times of the day where our minds are not tethered to a 'to do' list, and where the creativity and answers of the Universe can flow freely to us. This unscripted time out is the second part of the equation. A dear friend of mine had always been criticized for being a 'Dreamer', often caught off staring at the trees and sky. But I have always known this friend of mine to have exceptional insight when she has this 'unscripted' time, as I have indeed found for myself. Walks on the beach, sitting on my front porch starring at the trees in the wind, walks in the woods as I am known to do, singing along with quiet music, creating a drawing (even if I am not an artist!) or writing in a journal without a goal. This unscripted space, coupled with a daily meditation practice can be a powerful tool to bring clarity of purpose and peace of mind.
